COMUNITA' VIRTUALI

HOW TO FILE?
Dino BUZZETTI

The development of the filing of texts has begun to create complex problems in relation to the demands of the new research communities resulting from the development of telematic communications. They have led to new means of collaboration which can ?be carried out with the forms of work and ?processes of the type distributed. It is not simply a question of allowing access to data, but of making data available in forms which make long-distance exchanges, citation and analyses possible. This leads to problems regarding the type of data which can make similar operations in a telemeatically integrated research community possible. The data can be made available in either static or dynamic form. Data organized hypertextually or in the form of a database allow different types of static or dynamic interaction. The problem of internal representation of data then becomes of fundamental importance. The concept is illustrated with examples drawn from computer editing of manuscript texts.
