Il Centro Linguistico I seminari INTERNET E LE MUSE TEXT WITHOUT BORDERS ON INTERNET George LANDOW "Digitizing Theory" examines some of the ways that contemporary critical theory and digital culture intersect and interact. After discussing the different conceptions of text, authorship, and self that one encounters in digital as opposed to physically-based writing systems, this talk will look at some instances of the ways that text exists in electronic space. Finally, this talk will suggest some of the modes in which digital information technology does -- and does not -- embody the views of major critical theorists, including Barthes, Derrida, Bakhtin, and Deleuze and Guattari.
