PATRIZIA NEROZZI BELMANN is Full Professor of English Literature at the Libera Università di Lingue e Comunicazione IULM of Milano where she is Chair of the English Department. She was Head of the Curriculum Degree in Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures and of the Degree in Arts. Since 2003, she has been Dean of the Faculty of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures.

She has been teaching at university since 1969 in the Faculty of Law, in the Faculty of Political Science and in the Faculty of Arts at the Università degli Studi of Milano and in the Faculty of Modern Languages at the Università of Chieti as Full Professor.

She is also:

  • Member of the Board of the Doctoral Degree in Comparative Literatures at IULM University
  • Member of the Scientific Board of the Doctoral Degree in Humanities at the University of Verona
  • Member of the Scientific Board of ICoN (Italian Culture on the Net)
  • Member of the Scientific Board of the academic journals Lingua e Letteratura and Pòlemos - rivista semestrale di diritto, politica, cultura
  • Member of the Committee for the scientific evaluation of research-products for the Humanities (CIVR)

Her fields of research include:

  • the theory of narrative;
  • the history of the novel;
  • 18th British culture and novel;
  • new communication technologies and visual arts.

 

Since 1995 she has studied the relationship between the humanities and new communication technologies, founding the Humanities Laboratory as a centre for digital studies at IULM University.

 

 

She has organized many international conferences, among which:

She first conceived, and has directed since 2000, the Tristram Shandy Web Project (www.tristramshandyweb.it), a digital critical edition of Sterne’s book, which received a special mention for the best digital content at eContent Award 2005.
